About Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church of Penn Forest Township is a member of the

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). While I am an ELCA

pastor, our congregation comes from a rich variety of backgrounds. We

officially began worship services in 1883; however our records show that

services were held in the local schoolhouse as early at 1870. At that time we

were predominantly a Pennsylvania Dutch congregation. Today we are a mixture of different ethnic and religious backgrounds. This diversity helps to make this fertile ground for new growth, new ideas, and new ministries.

As Disciples of Christ, our calling is to share the love of God with all of God’s children. We do this through worship, outreach ministries, Sunday school, Bible study, youth ministry, and in various other ways. Building and sustaining relationships through Christ is how we live out the Great Commandment, to love God and Neighbor.

As we move into the future together, we will continue to answer God’s call to ministry and service. And we will see what wonders God has yet before us.
